From
the heart of Eugene, meeting places for our McKenzie River Rafting
Trips are only 45 to 65 minutes upstream. We carve out rafting trips
of varying lengths--9.5 miles for a half-day run, 13 to 16 for a full
day. We are flexible and suggest the section of the McKenzie River
appropriate to the paddling skills and experience of our guests--and
the time they have available. A Helfrich Outfitter LLC has
earned its reputation largely on customizing our trips (and
on our reasonable prices).
The excitement and challenge of the many McKenzie River rapids; the
serenity of occasional pools; the majesty of steep wooded hillsides--this
is the beautiful McKenzie River. Although State Route 126 parallels
the river over most of its length, a forested buffer preserves the
feeling of remoteness. The clear-as-crystal water dances over and
around boulders and rocks to turn exciting white in many places.
All
along the way, we frequently see occupied osprey nests, mom and dad
osprey fishing, old bridge abutments of huge moss-covered logs, distinctive
covered bridges, successful anglers, and kayakers playing on breaking
waves. Always, there's the feeling that one is on a great adventure.
Our
McKenzie River rafting guides are conscientious and experienced; licensed;
registered with the Oregon State Marine Board. Their courtesy and
pleasantness will contribute measurably to your enjoyment of this
wonderful, exciting McKenzie River.
